Giochessa Vermentino, Bolgheri 2022
Le Vigne di Silvia

FROM SOCCER FIELDS TO VINEYARDS BEAUTY

Switching our focus towards the Bolgheri appellation we are happy to introduce Giochessa Vermentino, named after Silvia Fuselli, former professional soccer player. A white wine that offers a very strong personality, ideal to sip on while exploring the Tuscan coast, where the Tyrennhian sea meets the hills. This Vermentino offers strong fruit notes and a touch of aromatic herbs such as thyme and sage. An impressive palate that offers mineral freshness and provides a firm finish, this is a white with a strong and structured body making it ideal for prolonged ageing in the bottle.

CRAFTING WINE ON ANCIENT VOLCANIC SOILS

Moving away from the coast towards the inland, we find ourselves in the Montecucco DOCG appellation with the estate Poggio Stenti, on the first slopes of the mountain Amiata. Tribulo, Tuscan expression to say «facing troubles» is a rich red wine 100% Sangiovese with a strong character, matured in large oak casks for 18 months. Its deep and silky tannins, well balanced by volume and freshness, give this wine a harmonious and persistent taste with elegant balsamic notes and sweet spices such as vanilla and dark chocolate. Perfect to enjoy along with red and game meats!

Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2021, SanLorenzo

FIRST SIP INTO MONTALCINO WANDERLUST

We proceed on the top hill of  Montalcino, approximately at 500 m above sea level, where the SanLorenzo winery is located, a family run wine estate whose vineyards are facing south-west. This Rosso di Montalcino comes from the farm’s youngest vineyards, where the clay soil offers richness in nutrients and water and water availability. Vinified in stainless steel and aged in oak barrels, this Rosso di Montalcino is the “first step” to properly understand and get in touch with the world of the wines from Montalcino, the king of which is Brunello.  This red offers a fruit forward expression of Sangiovese, fresh red fruits with  cherry in particular, complemented by pleasant hints of wood, very delicate on the palate.

TRADITIONS AND AUTHENTICITY

This tiny estate in San Casciano Val di Pesa, a few kilometres away from Florence, produces an intriguing  Chianti Classico Gran Selezione: a wine that, by rules of the appellation, is produced with estate grown grapes only, meticulously crafted in the winery where it ages for over 30 months in oak. Intense and bright ruby red color, with an intense aroma of sour cherry. It is a delicate, harmonious wine with a considerable body, suitable for long ageing. This Sangiovese, produced in limited quantities from a tiny vineyard of only 36 rows, represents the ultimate expression of Chianti Classico, a unique and prestigious wine.

San Guglielmo

SANGIOVESE, THE KING OF MONTALCINO

Finally we return to the west slope of Montalcino, 400 metres above sea level where, at the beginning of the 2000’s a Ilaria Martini and her father’s dream started materializing: San Guglielmo. A family estate producing a Brunello with a clear, lively and bright color, with hints of forest floor, aromatic wood and light vanilla on the nose. This Brunello di Montalcino will surprise you for the elegant and harmonious body, offering a strong ageing potential that makes Sangiovese from Montalcino a unique wine recognized worldwide.
